I am going to try designing with these two simple units.
What if I combine the two units to make this four patch block?

Four Patch Block #9
I'm going to try combining these two units (patches) to make four-patch blocks.
Then I'll try using the blocks to design quilt tops.
Wish me luck.
Lots of room here for some fancy quilting.

Simple Block #9 Version 2
I designed this simple block and I want to see what can be done with it.
By combining four of my block I can make this larger block. Now the question is what can I do with this?

Simple Block #9
I think you can agree this block is simple. Not hard to sew, but not much to look at either.
What if I combine 4 of my simple block to make a larger block? It's still easy to sew but more interesting visually.

Paired Blocks - Nine Patch & C Block
I wanted to see what would happen if I combined a Nine Patch block with a Snowball block. Except that I didn't really use a Snowball block. But I don't know what else to call it.
My Snowball block quickly turned into a different version of itself. Since it looks like a C, I guess I could call it C-Block.

Simple Block #8 Again
After yesterday's post I got the urge to play some more with this unit.
Even worse, I wanted to play with this arrangement of the unit.
So I did

Quilt from a Simple Block
In my last post I used a simple block to design this quilt top. My wife wants to make the quilt and asked me to produce a pattern for her. I thought I would work it out online and show you how I go about turning a promising design into an pattern.
