Playing with Quilting

Broken Dishes  (See also: 5 January 2010)

This quilt top was designed using a Broken dishes block.

How should I quilt it?

What if I quilt medium green concentric circles in the dark green squares?

What if I quilt medium tan concentric circles in the tan crosses?

I like the idea of repeating the concentric circle theme.

And what if I quilt concentric diamonds in the Broken dishes blocks using a thread with a color midway between the tan and the light green?

I like this.  The concentric circles are like ripples in a pond.  They give a sense of motion.


I don't know how successfully I can sew concentric circles, but if I have to I can always substitute spirals.
