Then I asked:
What if I replaced some of the squares in the ninepatch block with half-square triangles?
What if I did 2 color versions of the ninepatch block?
What if I used 2 of each ninepatch block to make a ninepatch pinwheel block?
What if I use this block in the corners of my quilt?
What if I use the 2 ninepatch blocks to make a different ninepatch pinwheel block?
What if I use this second block on the sides of my quilt?
If I do, then the result is the quilt that started this post.
But now I want to explore other possibilities.
What if I change the colors of the first ninepatch pinwheel block and then simply repeat it?
Then the result is this quilt.
What if I change the colors of the second ninepatch pinwheel block and combine 2 at a time rotated 180 degrees?
Then I get this quilt.
What if I change the colors of the ninepatch pinwheel block and get a third version?
What if I then repeat this new block?
Then I get this quilt.
I have to admit. I like playing with ninepatch pinwheel blocks. I'll probably do another one tomorrow.
I absolutely LOVE seebe, and your Log cabin blocks are also very interesting. very happy to have found you through the 100 blocks, blog tour.
