What if I start with these 3 very simple blocks? Can I combine them to create interesting quilt designs?

Three Block Quilts # 3
Drunkard's Path
Friendship Star
Shoo Fly
I've chosen these three blocks to experiment with. I want to see if I can find interesting ways to combine them and come up with new quilt designs.

Paired Blocks # 31
Drunkard's Path
& Nine Patch
Two very simple blocks that I've played with before. I decided to play with them again. Maybe I'll find something different this time.

Drunkard's Path
Drunkard's Path Plus
I got to wondering - What if a Drunkard's Path block had two quarter circles instead of one?
Here's what happens.

Clay's Choice &
Drunkard's Path
I thought it would be interesting to combine an 8" Clay's Choice block with 4" Drunkard's Path blocks.

You Really Should Try Mixing
Drunkard's Path Blocks
With Other Blocks
Drunkard's Path is an interesting block that is very different from most bocks. Usually it is used in combination with other Drunkard's Path blocks. Which is too bad, because combining it with a variety of blocks can result in some unique designs.

What If You Combine
Faux Drunkard's Path Blocks
With Snowball Blocks?
There's more than one way to skin a cat; and there's more than one way to create quilt designs. I have no idea why you would want to skin a cat. But I know a lot of good reasons to design quilts. My favorite is - because it's fun.

What Else Can You Do
With A Drunkard's Path Block
It's easy to think that Drunkard's Path blocks can be used for only one purpose - to make Drunkard's Path quilts. But you can take a Drunkard's Path block and use it in combination with other blocks to make a variety of different quilts.

What Elsie Can Do
With A Drunkard's Path Block
This quilt design is by Elsie Montgomery of Elsie Quilts. She calls it Drunken Stars. She saw what I did with Drunkard's Path and Friendship Star blocks and wanted to see what she could do.

What Else Can You Do
With A Drunkard's Path Block?
There are quite a few quilt designs that are made using just a Drunkard's Path block. But why use just a Drunkard's Path block? Why not combine it with other blocks?

Ever wonder what would happen if you tried making a quilt using two blocks that on first glance look like they probably don't go together?

Drunkard's Path & Snowball
Starting with these two blocks, Snowball and Drunkard's path, I want to see what motifs I can create by combining them.

Drunkard's Path & Snail's Trail
Yesterday I played with this motif made from Drunkard's Path blocks and Snail's Trail blocks. I am going to play with it again today to see what else I can come up with.
