Scrappy Quilt #2

Lap Quilt

I've decided to design some scrappy quilts to use up odds and ends of fabrics.

This one is shown using a mix of greens in the foreground and a mix of light beiges and tans in the background.

The actually colors aren't as important as the contrast in value between the foreground and the background. The foreground needs to be dark and the background needs to be light.

The design for this quilt started with half-squares triangles - one light, one dark and one half light/half dark.

I combined the half-square triangles to make 2 units - one light, and one dark with light corners.
Three dark units and one light unit were combined to make the block.

I played with the block and came up with various combinations, including the 3 below.

The half-square triangles are 3"x3", so the block is 12"x12", and the lap quilts are 54"x78".

You might want to play with the block to see what you can come up with.

Here it happens, look - a beautiful quilt, but do not want to repeat and would buy myself. And your, Wayne, well, just my-my. Any of the options. And not just in this post. Thank you once again. And I apologize that it is not in English, not very friendly terms with him

  4. I am loving this one. I love making HST as leaders and Enders, and always have buckets of them. Going to see what is in the buckets, and what I can come up with. Thanks for all your creativeness.

  6. A very interesting design! Probably a lot of other designs possible with that block too.
