Color Play

Jacob's Ladder

Jacob's Ladder is a traditional block I like. I've tried making it wonky. I've tried scrambling its units. I've tried cutting it into quarters and putting them back together differently. Now I'll try one more thing.

I've seen Jacob's Ladder colored many different ways. I think it would be fun to try a few of my own.

So here they are.

Using an old block doesn't have to mean doing the same old thing. Change the way it is colored and an old block is new again.

  1. I love all your color examples! Hard to pick just one. I gotta do one of these quilts soon.

  3. I have tried a bit of colour play ... but have never taken it as far as this! Look forward to seeing what other blocks you play with.

  4. Wayne, I have encouraged my favorite Yahoo group to use this block in a weekend QAL - probably doing in September. I'll try to remember to share some photos with you. I have shared this link with them, inspiring! Your examples are really beautiful.
