Quilting
Swoosh Quilt
Yesterday I designed this applique quilt top; today I want to design quilting for it.
(Click on the images to enlarge them and see the designs more clearly.)
I want the quilting to be an integral part of the design.
What if I use a dark green thread and add the leaf-like shapes to the design as shown?
What if I outline the central image?
What if I repeat and offset the ribbon-like pattern around the edges?
What if I fill in the remaining space with white stippling?
I think this quilting does a good job of accenting the design.

Wayne,
ReplyDeleteLove it ..... a little bit added to the design, and the stippling doesn't do anything to detract from the applique. There is probably a little room to add something to the stippled areas, but not too much.

Oh, another good one, Wayne!

ReplyDeleteI think adding quilting designs into the stippled areas is a great idea, provided that it is done using the same white thread as the stippling. That way it would add depth and interest without competing with the applique.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like it.
