Wonky Block

Birds in the Air

This Birds in the Air block caught my attention. I wondered what it would look like as a 12" x 12" wonky block.


I decided on grid dimensions of 2", 4", and 6". I played with the order of the grid dimensions, and the rotation of the blocks, with the result that I discovered the following 18 wonky Birds in the Air blocks.

All the blocks have similar characteristics, but they are all different.

The next step will be to pick a block or two to play with and see what kind of quilt designs I can come up with. Tomorrow is a lettering day, so I'll try that Tuesday.
