Borders
Wonky Shoo Fly
This is one of the colored versions from yesterday's post.
I think it's time to give it some borders.
What if I repeat the sashing to make the borders?
This doesn't feel substantial enough to be borders; and it feels a bit cramped.
What if I move the border sashing out a little?
It's not cramped but it's still not substantial emough.
What if I use 2 rows of the sashing?
I like this and the cramping doesn't bother me any more.
What if I insert color between the 2 rows of border sashing?
I like this even more.
What if I change the background from grey to white?
The extra contrast gives the border a bit more definition.
These colors are bright and lively; this is obviously a child's quilt.
What if I grey down the colors?
The border has even more definition.
This is much more somber; obviously an adult's quilt.

I like the colored one better than the single color. Nice.

ReplyDeleteColor is the first thing that everyone notices about a quilt. It is also the most important factor in deciding whether or not you like a quilt.
