Crescent Moon Placemat

A week ago, 3 July 2010, I played with a crescent-moon shape to see what sort of applique designs I could come up with. Now I want to use some of those designs to create placemats.

To make the original designs fit in the limited space of a placemat I had to alter them by asking what if..? over and over until I found something new that did work.
