Playing with Borders
Tessellation
I discovered this tessellating block on 6 May 2010.
What if I use it to make borders for a quilt?
This works just fine. However, the corner is directional.
Can I find a corner block that reads the same both vertically and horizontally?
I found this block on the same day that I found the first one. What if I use it as the corner block?
This works equally well in both directions.
I'd like to try one more thing.
What if I orient my original block so that it is horizontal in both arms of the border.
This works too.
The difference between these 3 versions is subtle. today I prefer the second one; tomorrow I might change my mind.

Wayne,
ReplyDeleteRecently on a forum someone asked what is an ugly fabric ... my reply was that it was one which I didn't like today. I liked it when I bought it, and might like it again tomorrow, but today it is ugly!
Today I like the middle version of these borders ..... but tomorrow.....

ReplyDeleteAn ugly fabric is the wrong fabric in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Which of these borders I would use would depend on the quilt that needed bordering.
