Wonky Block
Jacob's Ladder
I had so much fun playing with the wonky Jacob's Ladder block in my 10 September 2010 post that I thought I would see what sort of designs I could find using both it and the regular Jacob's Ladder block together.
My wife tells me that from a distance these remind her of cross stitch.

Your make the most beautiful pictures, do you make a quilt out of all of them? If you do I sure wish I was on your gift list. LOL
ReplyDeleteWow, using the original and the wonky versions opens up a whole new area of designs to explore.
ReplyDeleteLove the fifth one .... seems I am starting to like swirls in general. I agree with your wife .... they all look like cross stitch designs too!

ReplyDeleteI use my blog as a sketch book. It's a chance to experiment and try different things. After a while I look back and choose those designs that most appeal to me to sew. I like sewing; but I love designing. This way I get to design a lot and sew a little.

ReplyDeleteI think it's interesting to see how related blocks work together. In this case the two blocks are in different sizes and so to a different scale. I wonder how they would look if they were to the same scale?
