Miscellaneous Quilts
The other day, while designing a quilt, by mistake I hit the "invert color" key on my computer and was delighted with the result. Since then I've tried inverting the colors of my more recent designs. Here are some of the results.
The next time I'm having trouble making colors work I'll try inverting them to see what happens.

Wayne,
ReplyDeleteA happy accident!
The last one changes totally ... like both of them, but I am fascinated that the illusion of curves on the left disappears completey.

ReplyDeleteMy theory is that color creates emphasis in a pattern. When you change the color you change where the emphasis goes; you change what the viewer looks at and sees.
The illusion of curves is still there if you look for it but at the moment your attention is elsewhere.
