Borders
Unnamed Block from 4-Patch Units
I think this wall hanging from 21 December 2010 could be improved by adding a border.
Before I add a border, what if I finish the squares around the perimeter?
This looks more complete to me.
What if I add a narrow black border?
I think it needs more.
What if I add a second black border?
This looks more like a border.
What if I replace the white with the medium green?
This has a warmer feel.
What if I replace the medium green in the border with a dark green?
What if I replace the dark green in the border with black?
What if I lighten the light green, the dark green and the purple?
This is not as warm as it was, but the center seems to glow more than before.
What if I replace the plain black border with one that uses design elements from the main motif?
What if I replace the purple in the border with dark green?
Borders can sometimes make or break a quilt. For examples of other borders that I have tried on various quilts go to My Posts by Subject in the sidebar on the right and click on Borders.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the Christmas wishes. We just got back from Ottawa - lots of joy, not a lot of quiet.
I hope your Christmas was a joyful one too.
