I Have To Show You This

This is the quilt my wife Linda is currently working on.

She took the Weyburn block that I showed you in my last post; decided to make it scrappy and added some sashing.

I don't know if you can imagine this quilt without the sashing. But I can tell you it was nowhere near as interesting or lively. I think the sashing was a brilliant idea.

Often it's the little things that make all the difference.

  1. Wayne,

You should always listen to your wife!

  2. I love your quilt. What I'd like to know is how you got the picture to move like that as I scrolled down?

I always do listen to her.

Occasionally I even do what she suggests.

I just spent 5 minutes scrolling the picture up and down and it just moved up and down. Nothing at all unusual happened.

What did it do for you?

    Thanks for the kind words.

In this case all I supplied was the block. Linda supplied the genius and the work.

  7. Wayne, this is so interesting. On my computer as I move my cursor up and down the quilt actually moves. Or it appears to move. I love the effect. I've never seen it before.l It must be the angle it is hung and I get the appearance/feeling that this quilt is moving.

It doesn't do it on my computer. However, my wife showed it to me on her laptop and it looks like the blocks are spinning when when I scroll up and down.

Hers doesn't scroll as smoothly as mine. So that may be part of it. I think the other part is, as you say, the angle the quilt was shot at.

I find my blogs often look quite different on the small screen of a laptop. So that may be part of it too.

  9. Wayne, glad you could finally see what I was talking about. Mostly, I'm glad I'm not crazy! I'm going to look at it on my desk top and see if it does the same thing. Really interesting.

  10. Fabulous Wayne and of course congratulations to the talented quiltmaker. Sew many ideas, so little time! What software do you use when designing?
