I developed the original idea for this quilt top in my 15 December 2009 post. Then on 15 August 2010 I added sashing to it. Now I'm going to add a border.
I tried designing medallion quilts for the first time in my 14 October 2010 post. I've decided that the centers need to be stronger; they need to be the focus of attention. I'm going to try again today and see if I can achieve that using a Sawtooth Star block.
The last 2 days I've been designing borders. Yesterday Judy suggested I might want to turn those borders into medallion quilts. I've never tried to design a medallion quilt. It seems like a good idea.
Yesterday I discovered that I could make interesting borders with a Sawtooth Star block even though I had trouble using it to create quilt top designs.
I have trouble using a Rolling Stone block to create designs as well. What if I try making borders with it?
I was trying to see what sort of quilt tops I could create by changing the colors in a Sawtooth Star. My first few attempts were better suited to quilt borders. So I decided to go with the flow and see what sort borders I could create by changing colors.
I had so much fun playing with the wonky Jacob's Ladder block in my 10 September 2010 post that I thought I would see what sort of designs I could find using both it and the regular Jacob's Ladder block together.
