Tessellation

If this block looks familiar to you, it's because I was playing with it a week ago on 20 May 2010.  I am going to play with it again today.

What if I simply repeat it 16 times?

I get this endless vertical tessellation.

What if I make 2 versions of the block by coloring them differently?

This makes my tessellation more interesting.

What if I try these 4 versions of the block?

I think I've just wander back to the psychedelic sixties. Except that my colors are a little more grey now; but then so am I.
