Playing with Borders

This motif was designed using a Shoo Fly block variation.

What can I do for a border?

What if I start by reflecting part of the motif into the border?

This is interesting and I like it.  But it changes the original design a great deal and takes over as the center of attention.  The quilt has a very different feel than it did.

What if I eliminate the dark blue squares and change the triangles from light blue to dark blue

I prefer this.  The original motif  is back in the drivers seat.  The border relates to the original design and adds to it with out changing it.
