Playing with Blocks

Nine Patch






What if I create a quilt motif by using a Nine Patch block and an I-don't-know-what-to-call-it block in a Nine Patch setting?



I find this interesting.

What if I repeat the motif 4 times to create a quilt top?

I like what I see but it needs color.
What if I color it black and purple?

This color scheme doesn't work for me. Sometimes I see the black as the foreground and sometimes it becomes the background. In either case it doesn't capture the feel of the original motif.
What if I use magenta and red with black and white?

This works.

    There are things in this I could play with. Love the black and purple/magenta version., and the I don't know what to call it (either) block is interesting.

    Just to keep the record straight I should tell you that this is the same I-don't-know-what-to-call-it block that I used on 23 January 2010. Only this time the black and white are reversed.
